Meanwhile RCB had won the toss and opted to bowl first. Rajasthan openers Jos Buttler and the current Orange Cap holder failed to score runs today as he was Josh Hazlewood sent him for a cheap score. The ball was on a length and around off, it stayed low a bit. Buttler looked to pull but didn’t time it well, he hit it to mid-on where Mohammed Siraj ran forward and took a superb catch diving low to his left.

“We are only halfway through the tournament and he’s (Jos Buttler) already scored 490-odd runs. Generally, people score that many runs in an entire season. He’s batting extremely well this season,” former cricketer Piyush Chawla said on Star Sports’ show Cricket Live.

Another opener Devdutt Padikkal also walked off with 7 off 7 from an LBW off Mohammed Siraj. Ravichandran Ashwin played a quick knock of 17 off 9 with 4 fours and gave away his wicket to Siraj. Sanju Samson played a slow innings of 27 off 21 with four and 3 sixes. Daryl Mitchell played 16 off 24 balls.

But it was with the help of Riyan Parag’s much needed half-century knock that made RR reach at least a decent score of 144/8. Parag smashed 3 fours and 4 sixes to score an unbeaten 56 off 31 balls. The later batsmen only scored single digit runs.
