Former India opener Virender Sehwag criticized Punjab Kings (PBKS) pacer Sam Curran for his lazy run out against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). PBKS lost the match by 24 runs after failing to chase down 175 runs on Thursday (April 20) at the Punjab Cricket Association in Mohali.
Chasing the target, when PBKS faced a collapse and Curran became a victim of a runout. He played a delivery from Vyshak Vijay Kumar and went for a run. However, he was looking toward the ball and did not focus much on his running. Wanindu Hasaranga picked up the ball and hit the bullseye to send Curran back to the hut. All he could score was 10 runs from 12 balls.
Though PBKS faced a collapse, Jitesh Sharma kept the team’s hopes alive with his 41-run knock from 27 balls but his dismissal in the penultimate over ended their run chase and the team lost the match by 24 runs.

Virender Sehwag says Sam Curran doesn’t have much experience
After the match, Sehwag said that 18 crores won’t buy the player experience. Curran became the most expensive player in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) when PBKS bought him at a staggering price of Rs 18 crores.
“He’s an international player. But you can’t buy experience with 18 crores. It only comes when you play, when your hair turns white as you play under the hot sun,” Sehwag told Cricbuzz.
“We think just because he was bought for 18 crores, he will win you matches. But he doesn’t have that experience yet. It was poor running, there was no need for that,” Sehwag added.
