Pakistan’s left-arm pacer Wahab Riaz recently spoke about how he was not treated by former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja. Riaz pointed out that Raja has been demanding the respect he should be given for being a former Pakistani cricketer. Raja was sacked as PCB chairman on Thursday (December 22). His removal came after Pakistan’s humiliating whitewash against England at home.

Riaz said how he was ill-treated by Raja as the latter did not pick up his calls nor did he text him back. Riaz expressed how he felt bad at that time.

Ramiz Raja, after being sacked as the PCB chairman, said that being a former cricketer, he should not have been treated this way. That is why I made those comments. The thing was that I had called him around four times, and texted him twice or thrice,” Riaz said while speaking to Salman Butt‘s YouTube channel.

He didn’t pick up any of my calls, nor did he reply to my messages. I just wanted to make it clear that if he is feeling bad now, I too felt equally bad at the time. He could have at least replied,” he added. He also said Raja’s removal from PCB chairman was the government’s decision.
