As Virat Kohli is celebrating his 34th birthday (on November 5),  AB de Villiers, his close friend, and former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammate, sent him heartfelt wishes. Kohli is currently in Melbourne, Australia, participating in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022.

Kohli and de Villiers share a warm bong on and off the field. In a video shared by RCB’s official social media handles, the Proteas legend poured out his wishes and praised Kohli as a cricketer and as a much better human being. He also expressed his hope of South Africa playing in the final against India.

De Villiers said in the video: “Hello V, my biscuit. I hope you are doing well. I am currently in Bangalore. It’s quite ironic because I am sitting here and sending this message just to wish you a happy birthday on the fifth of November. I hope you have a fantastic day. You are one hell of a cricket player. But you are a much better human being.”

Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers stitched the highest partnership in IPL

Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers recorded the top two highest partnerships- for any wicket- against Gujarat Lions on May 14, 2016, at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. They stitched a 229-run stand by breaking their record of an unbeaten 215-run partnership against Mumbai Indians. Both players completed their century to put 248/3 as their final score.

De Villiers stayed not out on 129 from 52 balls, while Kohli was dismissed in the last over following his 109-run knock from 55 balls. As Gujarat Lions were bowled out for 104 runs, RCB clinched a 144-run victory.
