Team India’s new kit sponsor, Adidas launched the team’s match jerseys for all three formats on Thursday. The launch event was virtually held at the iconic Wankhede Stadium where India beat Sri Lanka in the 2011 World Cup final to lift their second trophy after 28 years. The match jerseys for three different formats were revealed with the help of drones at the stadium.
It was confirmed that Team India will wear different jerseys in ODIs and T20Is. Meanwhile, the team will sport the newly launched jerseys during the World Test Championship (WTC) Final match against Australia. All three jerseys have the famous stripe on their shoulders while Adidas’ logo sits on the right of the crest. BCCI’s logo is aligned on the right.

What do fans think about Team India’s new jerseys?
With the video getting released across social media platforms, fans went berserk. They all liked the three jerseys and said are excited to see the players in these new shining match kits. However, a few also felt that the jerseys were mid-range.

Notably, BCCI recently signed a five-year deal with Adidas. The leading sports apparel brand will manufacture and design Team India’s jerseys till March 2028.
“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) & adidas has today announced a brand-new partnership as the kit sponsor for the BCCI. The contract, which runs through to March 2028, will give adidas exclusive rights for manufacturing kit across all formats of the game. adidas will be the sole supplier for all match, training & travel wear for the BCCI- including the men’s, women’s & youth teams. Starting June 2023, Team India will be seen in the three stripes for the very first time and will debut their new kit during the World Test Championship Finals,” said BCCI in a release.
