After India’s Asia Cup victory on Sunday (September 17), Rohit Sharma and Co. will have another cricketing assignment four days after the conclusion of the continental tournament. India will play a three-match ODI series against Australia before kick-starting their ODI World Cup campaign against Pat Cummins and Co. on October 8 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

However, Virat Kohli won’t be a part of the team for the first two matches. The management has thought it best to give him and other players enough rest before their ODI World Cup campaign. But the 34-year-old will be featuring in the playing XI for the final ODI.

Meanwhile, the ODI World Cup will be played in India from October 5 with the opening match between England and New Zealand. After locking horns with Australia, Rohit Sharma and Co. will meet Pakistan on October 14th at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India is the sole host of the ODI World Cup for the first time. Last time in 2011, India hosted the tournament along with Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
