Yesterday, a video on KL Rahul took social media by storm. He was allegedly spotted at a strip club in London and as expected, fans got the chance to slam the batter at the same time, mock him with memes bringing his wife Athiya Shetty as well.

Rahul is currently in the UK and is recuperating from a thigh injury he sustained during a match in the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Though Rahul has struggled a lot with the bat in the cash-rich league, his injury eventually ruled him out for the remainder of the league.

Coming to the video, reports claiming Rahul was spotted at a strip club have been quashed by the cricketer’s wife Athiya Shetty. Shetty said that though she usually remains silent on these matters, sometimes it is important to stand up for herself, urging all to check the facts before reporting.

I usually choose to be silent and not react, but sometimes it’s important to stand up for yourself. Rahul, I and our friends went out to a regular place, as one does. Stop taking things out of context and check your facts before reporting. Peace and love,” Athiya wrote on her Instagram Story.

KL Rahul has struggled a lot in international as well as in the IPL, owing to which, fans and experts often slam him, as well as criticize the management for giving so many opportunities to the Karnataka-born batsman. However, former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria believes that the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper should be kept away from the Indian team to give chances to the in-form youngsters.

He didn’t have a very good IPL and is struggling for form. His hand-eye coordination hasn’t been up to the mark. I think he should be kept away from the Indian team for some time. A lot of new faces have emerged, and they should be tried out,” Kaneria said on his YouTube channel.
