WATCH: Ben Stokes’ jaw-dropping fielding to save a certain six against Australia

Ben Stokes

Needless to say, Ben Stokes is one of the finest modern-day all-rounders. He leaves no stone unturned when it comes to giving his best in whatever he does; be it batting, bowling, or fielding, he impresses everyone with his extraordinary efforts.

Stokes produced one such outrageous stuff during the second T20I against Australia at Canberra. A mind-boggling fielding was seen on the boundary ropes when Stokes stopped a certain six.

This took place in the 12th over when Mitchell Marsh smashed Sam Curran down the ground. It looked like a certain six but Stokes’ acrobatics didn’t let the ball cross the line and in the process, he saved two runs.

Watch the video below:

Stokes didn’t have the best outing with the bat as he could score only seven runs off 11 balls. He hasn’t played the shortest format for a month until this T20I series against Australia. With the ball, he conceded just 10 runs in two overs with an important wicket of Marsh.

Dawid Malan

Jos Buttler-led England clinched the three-match T20I series after the victory in the second T20I. Dawid Malan was the top-scorer with his knock of 82 runs off 49 balls.

Aaron Finch won the toss and opted to bowl first. Apart from Malan’s knock, Moeen Ali scored 44 runs off 27 balls, helping England post 178/7 in 20 overs.

In response, Mitchell Marsh and Tim David scored 45 and 40 runs respectively, but these weren’t enough as they fell short of eight runs in the end. England is now leading the series 2-0 and will look forward to whitewashing the Aussies in their home.
