Rishabh Pant is a part of the T20 World Cup 2022, but he has got just one chance to play and managed to score just three runs. A video has surfaced online, probably from an earlier match, where a group of fans in the stands was teasing Pant with Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela‘s name.

In the video, Pant was walking near the boundary ropes while the fans were trying to provoke him by shouting, “Bhai, Urvashi bula rahi hain. (Bro, Urvashi is calling you).” Pant could be heard giving a befitting reply.

A couple of months earlier, an interview clip of Urvashi had gone viral. She revealed that a certain “Mr. RP” had called her many times and waited for her in her hotel lobby. Pant took to his Instagram to slam her for spreading lies, after which the actor also hit back at him.

Barring one match against South Africa, in which Team India faced defeat, their campaign in the Super 12s has been excellent. After performing in Super 12s, Rohit Sharma’s men’s entire focus has shifted to the semi-final match, which they are set to play on Thursday.

India will be locking horns with Jos Buttler-led England, so former India coach Ravi Shastri feels including Rishabh Pant over Dinesh Karthik can give the team an X-factor. Veteran wicketkeeper Karthik’s campaign has not been great so far. He produced meager 1, 6, and 7 runs in three matches when he got the chance to bat.

While Pant was played against Zimbabwe, all he could contribute was three runs. But Shastri believes the inclusion of Pant in the playing XI can give a robust left-hander who can disrupt the English bowling attack in the short boundaries square in Adelaide.

Dinesh is a lovely team player. But when it comes to a game against England or New Zealand, just seeing their attack, I think you need a robust left-hander who can turn it on, and is a match-winner and a left-hander,” Shastri told the broadcaster Star Sports after India’s victory over Zimbabwe on Sunday.

He has done well against England. He recently won a match on his win against England, a one-day game. I would go with Pant, not just because he played here, but because of the X-factor angle, he can bring to the semi-final,” he asserted.
