Former India player Suresh Raina has not been in action for a long time. But on Tuesday, he shared a video where he could be seen preparing to resume practicing. Did he drop hints of making a return? He was padding up and facing some bowlers in Ghaziabad, his hometown in Uttar Pradesh. He shared the video with the captaion: “First love. Back on field”.

Raina went unsold in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League to the surprise of many. Even Chennai Super Kings, for whom Raina was an integral part- didn’t signed him. The 2011 World Cup-winner then took up the job of doing commentary for Star Sports Hindi.
Suresh Raina is the fifth-highest run-getter in IPL

Apart from representing team India in all-three formats, Suresh Raina has played 205 IPL matches and is among the top five-run getters in the history competition. He has amassed 5528 runs which included 39 fifties and one century. He was an integral part of the CSK franchise any helped them win four titles. The prolific batter was one of the top attraction in the tournament and became ‘Mr. IPL’.
For the first seven seasons, the 35-year-old had managed to score 400 runs and also became the first batter to cross the 5000-run mark.
Now that ILT20 and CSA league will also start from next year, it will be interesting to see if Raina will also feature in any of the two tournaments.
