Virat Kohli was the hero of the match but no one can forget the role Hardik Pandya played with his all-round performance. He first scalped three wickets and scored a crucial 40 runs to guide his team to a four-wicket win against Pakistan on Sunday, [October 23] at the MCG in Melbourne.
In a video, Pandya could be seen teary-eyed as he recalled his late father Himanshu Singh’s sacrifices during the former’s childhood. The video has gone instantly viral.

“If he hadn’t given me a chance, I won’t be standing here. He made a big sacrifice, he shifted to a different city for his kids. I love my kids so much but I can’t do that. We were six at that time, and he shifted an entire city and his entire business. It was a big thing. I’ll be grateful forever,” said Pandya.

Virat Kohli played a match-winning 82* runs off 53 balls, studded with six fours and four sixes at a strike rate of 154.72. Even he had tears in his eyes after guiding India to a four-wicket win.
Hardik Pandya, meanwhile, first bagged the wickets of Shadab Khan, Hyder Ali, and Mohammad Nawaz. Then went to play the supporter while stitching a crucial partnership with Kohli.
Pandya scored a much-needed 40 runs off 37 balls with a four and two sixes (at a strike rate of 108.11). He departed in the penultimate over off Nawaz’s ball. But that didn’t stop the Men in Blue despite the last-over drama, Ravichandran Ashwin completed the needed one run and broke Pakistan’s hearts.
