What a game it was! Matches at the iconic Chinnaswamy Stadium have always been memorable ones, especially during the Indian Premier League (IPL). And tonight’s game between the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) was one of them.
The small boundaries at the stadium mean batters play crazy innings. RCB’s ‘KGF’- Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and Faf du Plessis slammed- their respective half-centuries to the delight of the RCB fans.
However, their bowlers again fumbled. They failed to defend a huge 213-run target. The man behind RCB’s terrible condition was Nicholas Pooran, who slammed 62 off just 19 balls with four boundaries and seven maximums. He was given the Player of the Match after his blitzkrieg at a strike rate of 326.32. But before him, Marcus Stoinis displayed his terrific batting at a time when LSG lost their hope after losing four quick wickets. He slammed 65 runs from 30 balls with six fours and five maximums.
Harshal Patel fumbled while Mankading Ravi Bishnoi
There was so much drama that it’s hard to digest right now, especially by the RCB team and fans. Nicholas Pooran’s wicket triggered a collapse leaving the visitors in a tricky situation. RCB needed just one wicket to win the match when Harshal Patel attempted for a run-out of Ravi Bishnoi at the non-striker’s end off the penultimate delivery of the last over.
Patel dislodged the bails, but RCB were unlucky as the umpire turned down the appeal because Patel was well through his action. He attempted to run-out Bishnoi but fumbled at first, left the crease then dislodged the bails. Because of this mistake, RCB fans are heavily disappointed.

On the last ball off Patel, keeper Dinesh Karthik failed to collect the ball cleanly. A Bye was given by the umpire, the batters completed the run, then ran wildly on the field. LSG won the nail-biting match by one wicket.
