India paceman Jasprit Bumrah perfectly clean bowled Australia’s Glenn Maxwell during the third ODI on Wednesday (September 27) at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. Maxwell could score just five runs from seven balls.
On the last ball of the 39th over, Bumrah did what he is best known for – nailing the perfect yorker. Maxwell, who faced the delivery, was slow to bring down his bat against the yorker and the ball went past him to shatter the off stump.

Maxwell became Bumrah’s second wicket. In the 37th over, Bumrah dismissed Alex Carey (11 off 19) with the help of a catch by Virat Kohli.
After winning the toss, Australia chose to bat first. They made the best decision because several Aussie players scored a lot of runs for the team on the flat Rajkot track. In their 50 overs, the Aussies could reach 352/7. The highest run-scorer was Mitchell Marsh (96 off 84). Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne added 74 and 72 runs respectively.

Jasprit Bumrah did not play 2nd ODI
Minutes before the toss, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that Jasprit Bumrah won’t be a part of the playing XI for the second ODI against Australia. Bumrah was given an exemption from playing the second ODI as he needed to meet his family.

Bumrah and his wife and broadcaster Sanjana Ganesan recently welcomed their first child, Angad Jasprit Bumrah. To attend the birth, the 29-year-old had to fly back to India during the recently concluded 2023 Asia Cup. He missed playing the Group Stage match against Nepal but returned before the Super Four match against Pakistan. For the same reason, Bumrah met his family by missing the second ODI against Australia.
