Virat Kohli is arguably one of the most popular sporting celebrities around at the moment. Hence, it is no surprise that former Indian skipper has a huge fan base, not just in his homeland, but from all parts of the world. As the Indo-Pak fixture at the 2022 T20I World Cup draws closer, Virat Kohli was seen sweating it out in an intense net practice session.
However, the batter seemed to have been derailed by a couple of Indian fans, who were cheering on for him. Although, the fans cheered on Kohli by singing words of praise, yet the 33-year-old was sort of getting disturbed by the same. Hence, he calmly asked the fans to tone down their voice, and let him focus on his practice.
One of the fans in the background was also heard calling Virat Kohli as ‘King.’ Other fan suggested that they would cheer on for their star player once he is done with his net sessions. Team India open their T20I World Cup campaign against Pakistan at the iconic MCG on Sunday.

The preparations for the marquee event have been ideal for India. However, this has come at the cost of a few setbacks. India’s key pacer Jasprit Bumrah was unfortunately ruled out of the event due to an injury. The Men in Blue claimed a narrow victory over hosts Australia in their first warm-up game, before their second fixture against the Kiwis was abandoned due to rains.
Pakistan handed India an embarrassing 10-wicket loss at the T20I World Cup last time around, which ended their 12-match losing streak against their arch-rivals in ICC events. In a positive development for Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi is back fit and has already rung a few alarm bells after an eventful first over against Afghanistan in the warm up game.
Speaking about Virat Kohli, the Indian batter is entering the tournament in a much better mindset as compared to last year. He scored an elusive 71st International Century against Afghanistan at the 2022 Asia Cup, and also put on a few encouraging performances against Australia in the bilateral series.
