Former India player Gautam Gambhir feels Jasprit Bumrah can be the ultimate match-winner for India at the upcoming ODI World Cup, starting in India on October 5. Gambhir pointed out how, beside him, MS Dhoni, and Yuvraj Singh, it was former India pacer Zaheer Khan who set a tone with his bowling throughout the tournament, including his spells in the final.

We talk about Yuvraj Singh, MS’ innings, my innings, but actually it was Zaheer Khan, who set us up the entire tournament. You look at the spell against England where he got Andrew Strauss, you look at the spell at the World Cup final. Five over four maidens, 1/1. That’s how you set the tone. That’s why I can’t look beyond Jaspreet Bumrah if India has to…he has to have an A-tournament,” Gautam Gambhir said on Star Sports.

India will start their ODI World Cup campaign on October 8 with a match against Australia in Chennai. The tournament will kick start with the match between last edition’s finalists, England and New Zealand in Ahmedabad.
