Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni is the most successful Indian as well as Indian Premier League (IPL) captain so far, having led the teams to several coveted cups. But what is the secret to his success? How does CSK manage to make it to the playoffs almost every season?
Well, renowned cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle during IPL 2019, asked Captain Cool the reason behind CSK reaching the playoffs. But Dhoni is known for his witty replies so he came up with a funny answer again and said: “If I tell everyone what it is, they will not buy me in the auction.”
Watch the video below:
CSK hammered defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) by 15 runs in Qualifier 1. They are waiting for the winner of Qualifier 2 to meet in the summit clash of the 16th edition on Sunday (May 28).
Dwayne Bravo confirms MS Dhoni’s return to CSK next year
There are speculations that MS Dhoni is playing his last IPL his year. After that Qualifier 1 win over GT, Harsha Bhogle asked Dhoni whether it will be his last IPL or not, to which Dhoni revealed it was too soon to decide whether he will retire from the cash-rich league or not.
However, Dhoni’s former CSK teammate Dwayne Bravo who is also the bowling coach of the side seemingly confirmed Dhoni’s return as a player in the next season. Anchor Mayanti Langer asked Bravo whether Dhoni will don the yellow jersey the next season or not to which the West Indian said: “100 percent.”
“100 percent. Especially, with the Impact Player rule. It will keep prolonging his career,” Bravo said. “He bats really deep. I think the likes of Ajinkya Rahane, (Shivam) Dube…these guys make a huge difference. You don’t require much from MS. But he has the ability to keep his calm when the team is under pressure,” Bravo added.
