In the annual Boxing Day Test in the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australia put up 318, with some brilliant bowling by the Pakistan attack. When the men in green came into bat, everyone expected some fight back from them. Captain Shan Masood and Abdullah Shafique, each scored a fifty, but after their dismissal there was a classic Pakistan batting collapse.
After opener Imam-ul-Haq was dismissed for 10, Masood and Shafique put up an impressive partnership of 90. It was broken after Pat Cummins took a brilliant catch to dismiss Shafique. Ten deliveries later, Cummins produced a beautiful delivery to dismiss the new batter, Babar Azam.

Babar has been struggling since he scored a century against Nepal in the Asia Cup. In 15 innings, he has managed to score only three fifties across all formats. Before the Australia tour, he had given up captaincy from all formats and looked to contribute as a batter.
In the first two innings he batted in Australia, he has managed to score a combined 35. In the Boxing Day test, he came in and lasted only 7 balls. The Australian captain bowled the ball back of the length and made it jag towards the stumps.
Babar, who played the line of the ball without the deviation, was bowled. The ball went between his pads and bad to hit the top of off, which sent Babar back to the pavilion.
Pat Cummins takes screamer to dismiss Abdullah Shafique
Pat Cummins enjoyed his bowling on the 2nd day of the Boxing Day Test match. He picked up the wickets of Abdullah Shafique, Babar Azam and Agha Salman. Shafique and Masood had built a brilliant partnership of 90 runs, before Cummins dismissed the opener.

He got his first wicket in the last ball of the 35th over. The pacer bowled outside off and on good length. The opener went to drive the ball past him, but didn’t time the ball properly. The ball went low and Cummins needed to go down as fast as he could. Cummins managed to get his hands and his body down on time and dismissed the opener.
His wicket then led to a massive batting collapse, in typical Pakistani fashion. From 124/1, the visitors lost their next 5 wickets with only 70 runs scored. After Cummins got Babar, Nathan Lyon got the wicket of Shan Masood, who gifted his wicket. Josh Hazlewood dismissed Saud Shakeel, while Cummins struck again to get Agha Salman. Pakistan ended the day with Mohammad Rizwan and Aameer Jamal in the middle, with the score of 195/6.
