Afghanistan have had an incredible run in the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup. They had their best World Cup performance, finishing 6th with 8 points. Afghanistan beat teams like Pakistan and England. After their loss against South Africa, Afghan batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz was spotted in the streets of Ahmedabad donating money to the needy. 

In a viral video shared by RJ Love, Gurbaz was seen meeting homeless people late at night and giving them money. The narrator of the video said he was out at around 3 am at night and was donating Rs. 500 to each person. The narrator said he wanted to interact with Gurbaz, but decided not to and continued recording the cricketer committing good deeds.

Afghanistan have had their best World Cup performance so far. Although they lost their first 2 matches to Bangladesh and India, they beat defending champions England. After losing to New Zealand, the Afghan team beat their rivals Pakistan by 8 wickets. They then beat Sri Lanka and Netherlands as well, bringing themselves in the running for a spot in the semi-finals. Unfortunately, the dream for a spot in the semi-finals ended as they lost to Australia and South Africa in their last two matches.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz had an average outing in the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup. He started the tournament strong, scoring 224 runs in his first five matches, but only managed to score 56 in the next 4 matches.

He started off well, scoring 2 half-centuries, including an 80 against England and 65 against Pakistan. He missed out on a half-century by 3 runs against Bangladesh as well. Unfortunately, after his 2nd half-century he had a slip in form. His highest score in the final four games was only 25 runs. He finished the tournament with 280 runs, with an average of 31.11.
