Gautam Gambhir, the cricketing figure who cannot keep controversies at bay. On Wednesday (December 6), during the Legends League Cricket (LLC) Eliminator between India Capitals and Gujarat Giants, Gambhir and S Sreesanth got embroiled in a heated on-field exchange.

Sreesanth took to his Instagram handle after the match and posted a video accusing Gambhir of always picking fights without any reason. He criticized the former Indian opener for not respecting seniors, including Virender Sehwag.

Just wanted to clear the air about what happened to Mr. Fighter. One who always fights with all his colleagues. For no reason whatsoever. He doesn't even respect his senior players, including Viru bhai.
Sreesanth said in a video posted on his Instagram handle

He added:

That's exactly what happened today. Without any provocation, he just kept calling me something which was very rude and shouldn't have been said by Mr. Gautam Gambhir

Sreesanth added that he would reveal what Gambhir told him sooner or later. The verbal attacks by Gambhir may be about the match-fixing scandal from the 2013 Indian Premier League (IPL) because the pacer, in that Instagram video, said that his family, his state, and everybody have gone through a lot.

Gautam Gambhir is no stranger to controversy, got involved in three in 2023

This is the second time this year, Gautam Gambhir turned heads due to his on-field heated exchange with an opponent player. During the 2023 IPL match between the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), a verbal spat between Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq turned more ugly after the match involving Gambhir.

And during the 2023 Asia Cup, he again stirred controversy by responding in a derogatory fashion to a section of fans who allegedly chanted “Kohli, Kohli”. Later the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) mentor revealed that those fans were chanting anti-India slogans which is why he shut them up.
