WATCH: “Selfies, autographs and chats”- Babar Azam, Shadab Khan and other Pakistani players visit Hong Kong dressing room after match
Pakistan captain Babar Azam, vice-captain Shadab Khan and other players visted the Hong Kong dressing room. Pakistan had defeated Nizakat Khan’s Hong Kong by a massive margin of 155 runs at the Sharjah Crikcet Stadium to get the green card to Super 4 stage in the on-going Asia Cup 2022.
Hong Kong doesn’t usually get the chance to play with the Test playing nation like Pakistan. But they did after they defeated UAE to qualify for the Asia Cup 2022. In Hong Kong’s dressing room, all the players were seen taking selfies, autographs and had chats.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared a video of the same. You can watch the video below:
“Being a senior player, you have to take responsibility”- Mohammad Rizwan
Player of the Match Mohammad Rizwan said: “Most important for us is to adjust to the conditions even if it is T20 cricket. The ball was keeping low. We tried hitting, but it wasn’t coming off. Then we charged down, keeping in mind the ball was staying low. I believe in hard work. Being a senior player, you have to take responsibility. You have to play according to the team, and there will be pressure. I request everyone to help the people of Pakistan, who are in trouble [due to the floods]”. Rizwan played a knock of 78 runs and Fakhar Zaman scored his fifty, Khushil Shah’s quick 35 runs off 15 ensured Pakistan setting a target of 193 runs. Men in Green then bowled out Hong Kong on just 38 runs to win the match by 155 runs.
“Very nice victory for us. The wicket was keeping low, but the way we batted and finished was outstanding. We want the top-order batters to stay till the end, and the lower ones to bat around them. The way Naseem and Dahani have debuted, they have shown brilliant performances,” Babar Azam said after the match.
