MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina share a very close bond both on and off the field. Raina, the ‘Chinna Thala’ of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and ‘Thala’ retired on the same day from international cricket (August 15, 2020) but continued to share the dressing room in the IPL.

After Raina went unsold in the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction, he started his career as a commentator. Dhoni, however, still plays in the IPL and is all set to captain the Yellow Jersey in the 17th edition of the league.

These days, a video has started doing rounds on social media. In the video, Raina revealed an unheard tale about Dhoni’s wedding. Captain Cool married Sakshi Singh Rawat in Dehradun in 2010. In the video that has gone viral, Raina recalled how Dhoni asked him to come to his wedding without telling anyone.

Unhone phone kiya, bola, 'kahan ho?' Maine bola, 'hum toh Lucknow mein hai'. 'Phir vo bole 'Keh rahe hai, meri shaadi hai Dehradun mein aaja, silently aana, kisiko batana nahi. Main wait kar raha hu tera, (He had called me and asked me, 'Where are you?'. I said I am in Lucknow. 'I am getting married in Dehradun. Don't tell anyone and come silently, I am waiting for you).

CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan reveals when MS Dhoni will start working in nets

During the 2023 IPL, MS Dhoni was seen struggling with knee niggle, and after guiding CSK to their fifth IPL trophy, he underwent surgery in Mumbai. And thankfully, he is all set to start his training to prepare for the 17th edition of the cash-rich league.

CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan revealed Dhoni has started his rehabilitation and has been working in the gym. Viswanathan also said that in 10 days, Thala will start working in the nets.

The IPL may start around March 22 this year. Viswanathan said they are planning a camp in the first week of March in Chennai.
