Virat Kohli has been scripting records in the ongoing ODI World Cup and his red-hot form is truly a blessing for the Indian Cricket Team. After gearing up for the semifinal clash against New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday (November 15), Kohli, some minutes before the match, started playing football.
The special thing about this is that he played football with the football legend David Beckham. Before the semifinals, news started spreading around that the former Manchester United and Real Madrid legend would mark his presence in the semifinals. He arrived in India as the ambassador of UNICEF and it is his first visit to India.
Video of Beckham playing football with Kohli and pictures of his interaction with Sachin Tendulkar have been going viral on social media. He was also spotted sitting in the stands beside Jay Shah, the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). On Instagram Story, Beckham posted a video of him playing football with Kohli.

After the match, Beckham congratulated Kohli and also talked about his century. Here is what he said:
I'm in India at the very right time. I've seen the Diwali, today I saw Virat Kohli bat and reached his 50th century.

Virat Kohli, in that New Zealand match, hammered his 50th ODI century, thus surpassing Sachin Tendulkar by becoming the batter with the most centuries in ODIs. India started on a high note courtesy of Rohit Sharma‘s quickfire.
After his dismissal, Kohli capitalized on the great start and slowly inched closer to the record. He reached the 100-run mark off 106 balls and ended his innings after scoring 117 runs off 113 balls. His knock included nine fours and two sixes. India posted 397/4 in their 50 overs. Apart from Kohli, Shreyas Iyer also scored his second World Cup century.
