A couple of days ago, choreographer Pratik Utekar‘s Instagram post with Yuzvendra Chahal‘s wife Dhanashree Verma went viral for all the wrong reasons. In that picture, he affectionately wrapped his arms around Verma’s shoulders during the Jhalak Dikhla Jaa party, and this irked many social media fans.

The trolls on the social media platforms abused the dancer for getting ‘cozy’ with another man. On the 16th of March, Verma addressed the backlash over the picture, revealing how she would have ignored or laughed out loud had it not affected her family.

The reason it has affected me this time is that it has affected my family and my near and dear ones. Since you all have the freedom on social media platforms to speak your heart out, you tend to forget or choose to ignore the sentiments of us and our family.
She said in a video she shared on Instagram

She further revealed that the negativity forced her to take a social media detox which was “peaceful” for her. But as Instagram is a major part of her work, she “gathered courage” to come back.

So, just don’t forget that I am also just a woman, just like your mother, sister, friend, wife, and this is not done, and it’s not fair.
