David Warner apologises to fan for controversial Instagram post
David Warner’s jokes and reels are mostly met with the same kind of love he has for India, except sometimes, fans rather find some of his posts offending.
Ahead of the 1st T20I versus India, a post by Warner made fans question him over his knowledge. Three hours before the start of the match, Warner posted a picture of former India skipper Virat Kohli and Aaron Finch with the caption: “Who’s winning tonight? Come on Australia”.
Kohli has stepped down from the captaincy role earlier this year and Rohit Sharma was from then, is handling the responsibility. Fans questioned Warner why he posted a picture of Finch with Kohli when Rohit should have been there as he is India’s captain now.
Warner checks his comments frequently. Reading the section which was filled with the same questions, Warner replied: “I know sorry”.
Notably, Warner has not been included in the squad that is now touring India as he has probably been rested. But he will be there in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in October.
Also, the first T20I had gone to Australia’s favour after they were able to defeat India by four wickets to lead the three-match T20I series by 1-0.
