Former India captain Virat Kohli is all set to play his 500th international match of his career when he will walk into the field during India’s second Test match against West Indies at Port of Spain in Trinidad. Not just Kohli’s milestone, India and West Indies will also be playing their 100th Test match. However, rain is likely to play spoilsport on Day 1 on Thursday (July 20).
Not just on Day 1, India versus West Indies second Test may see rain on all five days as per Accuweather. On Day 1, Accuweather shows 58% of rain with 17% of thunderstorms.
Here are the weather forecasts for all five days:
- July 20- 68% rainfall.
- July 21- 66% rainfall.
- July 22- 65% rainfall.
- July 23- 85% rainfall.
- July 24- 43% rainfall.
What will happen if rain washes out the 2nd India vs West Indies Test?
Though rain is expected to fall on all five days, it may not be that intense to wash out the second Test. But if at all rain plays spoilsport on all five days, then both the teams will receive four points each.
This point is for the new 2023-25 World Test Championship (WTC) cycle. India, after losing the 2023 WTC Final against Australia, are still occupying the first spot because India’s first match against West Indies marked the beginning of their WTC cycle.
But drawing the second Test against West Indies will take them to the second spot and Pakistan may occupy the first place as they have won the first Test against Sri Lanka. And if the match occurs without much hindrance and if India wins, needless to say, they will continue to lead the chart.
