Farhart’s has been the only positive test among Capitals’ contingent during the mandated pre-match day testing, according to The Hindu. The entire team has been placed in isolation till further notice, with Farhart isolated for at least 5 days. The optional training session scheduled for Friday evening has been cancelled.
For the IPL 2022 season, match-day testing has been eliminated. The rest members of the squad, on the other hand, will undergo medical tests ahead of the competition. The game will go as planned if no further adverse tests are found.
The statement went on to say of Farhart, a former physiotherapist for the Indian cricket team: “Patrick Farhart, a physio for the Delhi Capitals, has tested positive for COVID-19. The DC Health Team is currently keeping a careful eye on him. During the two-month IPL, the COVID threat has grown as cases have gradually increased.
Last year, during the height of the second batch in May, the competition had to be halted and was completed in the United Arab Emirates.
To combat the COVID-19 threat, the BCCI is hosting the elite T20 tournament in four stadiums throughout Maharashtra. The play-offs, on the other hand, are expected to take place outside of the state.
