On Sunday, September 19, a video went viral on social media that wreaked havoc in Delhi’s cricket fraternity. The video showcases a notable cricket personality from Delhi, Pradeep Chawla getting thrashed by a female. Pradeep is a big name in the Delhi & District Cricket Association circle and has essayed a lot of important roles for the city.
Chawla is the former wicketkeeper-batsman who represented Delhi in 24 first-class and 13 List A matches. The right-hander has a whopping 985 First-class and 356 List A runs to his credit at an impressive average of 30 and 71 respectively. Meanwhile, it was the cricketers’ second innings as a coach and selector that fetched him limelight.
Pradeep Chawla currently holds a position as a member of the selection committee at the Delhi Cricket Association for U14, U16, and U19 age groups. The 40-year-old is gaining a lot of limelight in the cricket fraternity but for all the wrong reasons. On Sunday, a video went viral on social media where the former cricketer can be seen getting beaten up by a female.
DDCA official raises concern over the viral video featuring Pradeep Chawla
A female thrashed Pradeep brutally with a slipper while the other female filmed the entire video along with abusing the selector. As the former Delhi cricketer was subjected to a lot of criticism for the viral video, he clarified that the clip is from 2019 and the situation is now under control at his house.
Chawla also tried to put all the speculations to rest by claiming that the video was filmed for making a tik tok video. It is now learned that the viral clip can hamper Pradeep’s professional career. A DDCA official has raised concern saying that having selectors like Pradeep in the committee will give a wrong message to the budding cricketers.
