Rajat Patidar

Rajat Patidar has joined Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as a replacement for the injured Luvnith Sisodia for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season. Rajat Patidar, who plays for Madhya Pradesh in domestic cricket, has played 31 T20s and has 861 runs to his name thanks to seven half-centuries. The right-handed batter, Rajat Patidar who previously represented the RCB franchise four times, will join the club for INR 20 Lakh.

The Rajasthan Royals will play the RCB on April 5 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. RCB has played two matches this season, winning one and losing one. RCB played their first game against PBKS, who were led for the first time by Mayank Agarwal as a regular skipper. RCB lost that game despite scoring 205 runs, with their new skipper Faf du Plessis leading the way with 88 runs.

His knock, however, was in vain as the combined efforts of the PBKS batters pushed them over the line. It should be noted that RCB appointed Du Plessis as their regular captain ahead of the season after regular captain Virat Kohli stepped down. Du Plessis, who was not retained by CSK in the retention process, was acquired by RCB for INR 7 crore.

In terms of RCB’s second game, they won it against KKR in a low-scoring thriller. However, it remains to be seen how far RCB will be able to progress in this season of the IPL. Their quest for the IPL trophy continues this season, and it remains to be seen whether they will be able to get their hands on valuable silverware this time.

Du Plessis, who narrowly missed out on the Orange Cap the last time around, will be crucial for RCB this time around in helping them win their first trophy.
