The 41st match of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) saw a lot of drama, action, and comedy as Kolkata Knight Riders locked horns with Delhi Capitals. Playing at the Sharjah Cricket Ground, Delhi skipper Rishabh Pant and KKR wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik were involved in a hilarious incident.

The 17th over of the first innings saw Varun Chakravarthy taking the ball for the last time against DC in IPL 2021 with Rishabh Pant and Ravichandran Ashwin. Since Delhi were reeling at a score of 98 for six, Pant had the responsibility of changing his gears to take the team to a decent total.

In the same light, the batter decided to hit the ball hard during the first delivery of the 17th over. However, things didn’t go as per the plan for the youngster as he mistimed the shot, and the ball was bouncing wickedly close to the stumps. To prevent the ball from touching the stumps, Rishabh tried to swat the ball away.

During the same process, Pant was about to hit Karthik hard on his head but the wicketkeeper just managed to get out of the way. The entire episode was quite hilarious as both Pant and Karthik took it sportingly as they punched the gloves and shared a laugh.

For KKR, Lockie Ferguson, Sunil Narine, and Venkatesh Iyer shined with the ball as they picked two wickets each. Chasing, 128, the Knight Riders didn’t face much trouble as they ended up completing the target within 18.2 over to acquire two crucial points.
