Pak vs Aus: [WATCH]- Shaheen Afridi’s unplayable delivery knocks off David Warner’s stumps
Shaheen Afridi
In the third and final Test match between Pakistan and Australia, Shaheen Afridi dismissed Australian David Warner as his off-stump went cartwheeling on Thursday, March 24 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
In the 29th over of the innings on Day 4, just after Warner scored his half-century, speedster Afridi’s brilliant ball crashed into the stumps and it sent Warner’s off stump flying. Afridi celebrated the dismissal in his signature style with his arms up. Both the crickets then displayed a fine sportsmanship as they shook hands and engaged in a short friendly chat. This is a rare scene of friendship on the field between the bowler who has just sent the batter back to the pavilion.
Pakistan Cricket Board shared the video on the video, you can watch it here:
David Warner and Shaheen Afridi’s friendly banter
On Day 3, an image of Afridi and Warner stormed the internet. Shaheen had delivered a short ball and Warner defended it. As the ball landed right under Warner’s feet, Afridi, instead of picking the ball, walked up to Warner and stared into his eyes. Afridi stood tall and Warner too stared at him before ending with a cheeky grin. This was the final ball of Day 3 and this hilarious banter brought the fans in the stadium alive.
Meanwhile, Pat Cummins and Mitchel Starc displayed some sensational bowling. Responding to Australia’s 391, the hosts who were at 248-4, were bundled out for 268 in their first innings. Pat Cummins took five wickets and Mitchell Starc took four wickets.
In the second innings of Australia, Usman Khawaja scored his century, 104 off 178 balls and David Warner scored his 34th half-century. In total, their score read 227 in the second innings. Pakistan has so far scored only 73 runs and on the fifth and final Day, they will need 278 runs to win the match.
