Pakistan is hosting Australia on its soil after 24 years. In their first match of the three-match series against Australia, the promising star bagged 2/88 wickets in 30 overs by snatching the wickets of well-set Marnus Labuschagne and Mitchell Starc. Although, he didn’t bowl in the second innings as their team were batting on Day five. He was the only fast bowler from both sides who bagged more than one wicket on the batter-friendly pitch. The Pindi pitch was also criticised by ICC and rated it ‘below average’. The match was ended in a dull draw at Rawalpindi Stadium on Tuesday.

Now that the focus shifted towards the next Test, Pakistan players are practising their best in the nets. While practising, the tall pacer Afridi did something on the field that sparked a debate among fans. For a change, the left-arm pace spearhead tried his hands in spin bowling and imitated India’s left-arm spin veteran Ravindra Jadeja. The ball nearly missed the leg-stump. Apart from the heights of the two players, almost everything looked the same.

When the video of his bowling was shared on Twitter by a veteran sports journalist Bharat Sundaresan, fans were convinced that Shaheen Afridi was copying Jadeja’s bowling action.

Veteran all-rounder Jadeja scored an unbeaten 175 runs and took 9 wickets and helped the team thrash Sri Lanka by an inning and 222 runs in Mohali. This outstanding performance lifted him to first place on the ICC standings. The 2nd match of the bilateral series will be played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday from March 12.
