The cover drive is considered one of the hardest and elegant strokes in cricket. It is the process of playing the ball via the cover region of a delivery aimed around the off-stump with superb wristwork, remarkable timing, and conventional front foot movement towards the pitch of the ball.
Kohli and Babar’s astounding batting ability has made the general public wonder who has the better cover drive among them. Ian Bell rates Virat Kohli’s cover-drive as the best
Ian Bell, himself was one of the best players to play the cover drive. He was known for his great timing of the ball and for the graceful shots he had under his kitty. Bell believes that while Babar Azam is good, it’s Indian captain Virat Kohli who beats him hands down in terms of a better cover drive. Bell was of the opinion that he loves technically sound players and Virat Kohli is the best in modern-day cricket.
“I really like a technical batsman. He is probably the best at the moment. It’s hard to look past Kohli’s cover drive in world cricket,” Ian Bell told Sportskeeda.
Ian Bell has been rated as one of the best batsmen ever to have played for England. He has accumulated 7727 runs in 118 Test matches and 5416 runs in 160 ODI’s. Bell has 26 International centuries to his name which also includes a double-ton.
