In a blockbuster first qualifier of IPL 2021, MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings defeated Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals by four wickets. Fans got to see the old vintage Mahendra Singh Dhoni as he finished the match for his team and played a good knock under pressure.
Batting first, Delhi Capitals somehow managed to post 172 runs on the board. Prithvi Shaw made 60 runs off just 34 deliveries and was assisted by Rishabh Pant and Shimron Hetmyer, who scored 51 and 47 runs respectively.
For Chennai Super Kings, Ruturaj Gaikwad and robin Uthappa batted really well. The two added 110 runs for the second wicket. However, after their dismissals, the team got into trouble but it was MS Dhoni who scored a quick fire 18 runs with a strike rate of 300 and sealed the win for his team.
Interestingly, it will be the ninth time when CSK will play in the finals of IPL in their 12 appearances. It will be fascinating to see if they will be able to win the title this year or not.
