WATCH: Travis Head’s failed relay catch attempt leaves the fans in stitches

Travis Head
The second match of the Australia Domestic One-Day Cup 2021-22 saw an intense affair between South Australia and Queensland. Travis Head was the star of the day as he caused carnage on the field to steer South Africa to a 67-run victory. The batter hammered a scintillating 230 runs off just 127 deliveries including as many as 28 boundaries and eight maximums.
Apart from entertaining the viewers with some breathtaking shots, Head also gave his 100 percent effort during fielding. However, the South Australia skipper managed to tickle the funny bone of the spectators by producing a comedy of errors in the second innings. After 36.5 overs, Queensland found themselves reeling at 284 for seven.
In an attempt to accelerate the innings, the on-field batter Michael Neser decided to hit big. On the last delivery of the 37th over, the 31-year-old smashed the ball off Brendan Doggett towards the deep square leg. Head, who was fielding around the same region tried to pull off an astounding catch.
Travis Head makes a failed attempt

The skipper dived in the air in an attempt to catch the ball before crossing the boundary line. However, he couldn’t stabilize himself and failed to leave the ball inside before going over the ropes. Though Travis’ foot touched the rope while the ball was in his hand, he tried to pass the ball to Nathan McAndrew. Nathan also made an effort to save the maximum by sending the ball back while being in the air.
This is when the third fielder came into the picture. Since the player was already aware of the ball going for a six, he simply walked over the boundary line and sent the ball back inside. The entire episode of three fielders trying to save a single maximum went the social media in splits.
