Twitterati fumes as BCCI omits Hanuma Vihari’s name for IND vs NZ Tests despite Syndey heroics

Hanuma Vihari

The iconic Sydney Test match against Australia is still fresh in the minds of all Indian fans where Hanuma Vihari and Ravichandran Ashwin stitched an outstanding match-saving partnership. However, the former could not play again in the series since he had suffered a hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, Vihari’s name went missing from the 16-member Test squad for the upcoming home series against New Zealand. Vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane will lead the side for the maiden game in the absence of Virat Kohli, who’ll be back in the following match.

Later, Vihari was added to the India A squad which is scheduled to play three four-day encounters at Bloemfontein.

It is better to send him to South Africa. The Indian team will be playing in South Africa later this year. If he scores there then he will be picked for the Indian team against South Africa,” a source in the Indian board said to The Indian Express.
