Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma yet again clear the air of rift between the two
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma
Team India’s two of the best batters of all time, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been repeatedly questioned upon their off-field equation. However, the duo has always been brushing aside all the rumours and media reports.
Recently, Kohli addressed a pre-departure press conference ahead of the South Africa tour later this month. The right-hander once again mentioned that everything is alright between him and Rohit just like he’s been confirming this for the last 2-2.5 years.
“Between me and Rohit, I have already addressed this on several occasions, there is no problem at all,” Kohli said while addressing a press conference on Wednesday afternoon.
“Honestly from the last two or two-and-a-half years I have been clarifying regularly and I am now tired of clarifying this point because that question is repeatedly asked of me. I can say one thing with a guarantee that any action of mine, any communication, won’t be to put the team down till I play cricket. That’s my commitment to Indian cricket,” he added.

Earlier, Rohit also didn’t shy away from leaping massive praises for his red-ball skipper in a recent media interview. The 34-year-old acknowledged that the team always needs a batter of Kohli’s quality and experience. He further mentioned that the Delhi cricketer will continue being a leader of the side even after his removal as the limited-overs formats captain.
“A batter of Kohli’s quality is always needed in the squad. To have an average of 50 plus in the T20 format, it’s crazy and unreal. Obviously, with the experience he has, he has batted and bailed India out so many times from difficult situations.
“The quality and his kind of batsmanship are required. Plus, he is still a leader of the team. All those things put together, you don’t want to miss out. You don’t want to ignore that kind of stuff. His presence is very important to the team,” said Rohit during a chat with eminent journalist Boria Mazumdar.
