Virat Kohli is set to make history by becoming the first player to feature in all the possible finals of the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) events. The Indian captain will take the field for the final of the inaugural World Test Championship (WTC) to achieve this feat.

The WTC final is scheduled to take place from the 18th of June to the 22nd and will see India clashing against New Zealand. The summit clash is a culmination of a two-year long tournament that saw sides play bilateral series to earn points in order to qualify for the final.

The match is scheduled to be held at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton and is bound to be a cracker. With the New Zealand side having an excellent pace battery to make use of the swinging conditions in England, India will have their task cut out. In fact, the Black Caps might have the edge considering the sides’ most recent series that saw them come up trumps with an excellent display of pace bowling.

Virat Kohli has featured in all possible ICC events’ finals. Starting with his iconic victory in the Under 19 World Cup in 2008 as captain, Kohli has appeared in various other summit clashes. After the U-19 final, it was the ODI World Cup final in 2011 where once again he came up trumps. After that, it was the Champions Trophy final in 2013 where once again he was on the winning side after making a crucial contribution with the bat.

Finally, it was the final of the ICC T20 World Cup in 2014 where he ended up on the losing side. Kohli also featured in the Champions Trophy final loss to Pakistan in 2017. Now, with the WTC final, Kohli will have achieved the remarkable feat of being the only player to feature in all of the aforementioned tournaments conducted by the ICC.
