The dry run for Mumbai Indians (MI) batter Suryakumar Yadav continues in the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The right-hander got out for a golden duck in match 42 of the tournament against Punjab Kings (PBKS) here in Abu Dhabi.
Chasing a below-par total of 136, SKY came in at number three during the fourth over for the Mumbai-based franchise. However, he couldn’t spend much time at the crease as young leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi rattled his stumps with a massive googly. The batter failed to read down a vicious wrong’un and was foxed with the sharpness of the turn as the ball went through the big gap between his pad and bat to hit middle-and-leg.
Bishnoi, who didn’t start in the UAE leg for Punjab, claimed back-to-back wickets for the side to bring them back in the contest. He has now registered two consecutive impressive performances for the Kings as he had snapped a three-wicket haul in Punjab’s defence of 125 in the previous game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Middle-order batter Aiden Markram emerged as their top-scorer with a handy knock of 42 runs off 29 deliveries. In the bowling department, most MI players produced great performances while Jasprit Burmah (2/24) was the pick of the bowlers.
In reply, MI has lost three crucial wickets in quick succession with not many runs on the board. This game is a vital encounter for both sides to keep their hopes alive for the IPL 2021 playoffs.
