Mumbai Indians (MI) shared a video, announcing their key captain’s arrival, as the captain joined the team ahead of the upcoming IPL 2022, which will begin on March 26.

After the wrapping up of the bilateral series between India and Sri Lanka, which the former won by 2-0 in Bengaluru, the focus is now shifted towards the IPL. With less than two weeks to go, the players who were in the Test now started joining their respective teams. In the video of MI, Sharma can be seen entering the team hotel, holding daughter Samaira and was accompanied by his wife. He looked towards the IPL trophies that were displayed at the hotel.

Jasprit Bumrah and Ishan Kishan join Mumbai Indians ahead of the season

Pacer Bumrah also joined the bio-secure bubble just hours after the victory over Sri Lanka. The talented youngster Ishan Kishan, who was bought by the Mumbai Indians for a whopping Rs. 15.25 crore, also arrived at the team hotel. The 23-year-old was the most expensive player at the recent mega auction in Bengaluru.

The 5–time champion will begin their practice session and after some disappointing matches in the last year’s tournament, they will be eyeing the record 6th crown since all the matches will be played in Mumbai and Pune. MI will open their campaign on March 17 against Delhi Capitals at the Brabourne Stadium on March 27. The opening match of the IPL will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders.
