Watch: Pat Cummins hammers the foot holes back into place for teammates Cameron Green
During the 2nd Test match between Australia and Pakistan, Aussie Captain Pat Cummins was seen hammering the foot holes back into place for Cameron Green in Karachi on Tuesday, March 15.
After tea, Pat Cummins was showing his handyman skills by hammering the foot holes, using a mallet for Green. The pitch was starting to deteriorate quite a bit then. “Not much he can’t do Pat Cummins,” Simon Katich said on Fox Sport’s coverage.
“I think what was happened, there was maybe an area that was providing perhaps a divot that he wasn’t happy with Green,” Mike Haysman said.
Australia set Pakistan a massive total of 506 runs and restricted the host to 104 for 2 at tea on day four. Pakistan will have to summon up extra labour to forbid Australia a 1-0 lead in the three-test series.

Australia chose to bat after winning the toss. Their score read 556 in the first innings, where Usman Khawaja notched up the highest among them with 160 runs. In response, Pakistan’s batting was disappointing as they were bundled out for 148/10. The Karachi Test has become a nightmare for the host team as they looked as if they are not playing at their strongest venue and playing somewhere else.
Even former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar slammed his country’s mediocre performance, was disappointed and called their 1st innings boring.
“If you make such wickets, who will be interested in playing here.” Akhtar told Geo News. “When you play with fear, this will happen […] only issuing good statements will not help you.” Akhtar added.
In the 2nd innings, Australia just scored 97 and declared their innings and gave the target of 506 to Pakistan. So far, Pakistan scored 192 by losing 2 wickets and need 314 runs to win in 90 overs. The fifth and final day will start with Abdullah Shafique (71*) and Babar Azam(102*).
