India’s tour of Sri Lanka in 2015 is a very memorable and special one for the team. It was Virat Kohli‘s maiden series as India’s Test captain. Kohli went on to win the series as he finished as the side’s top run scorer with 233 runs in three games. with a win in his first full series as captain, Virat Kohli announced his arrival in some style.
The win was a memorable one as it marked the end of India’s 22-year long wait for a Test series win in the island nation. Before the win in 2015, India had not won a Test series in Sri Lanka since 1993. The series win was India’s first overseas Test series victory since the 2011 tour in the West Indies.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma pull off a prank on Ajinkya Rahane
The series saw Ajinkya Rahane have a fairly good outing as he finished as the third-highest run-getter for India after Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Rohit smashed 202 runs while Rahane amassed 180 runs in the three-game series. Even though the tour was uneventful for Rahane but an incident following the series is what made it a memorable one for him.

Following the series, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma had pulled a hilarious prank on Ajinkya Rahane. Both Rohit and Kohli had hilariously asked Sri Lanka superfan Percy Abeyasekara to kiss Ajinkya Rahane. After the series ended, the players were spending some time with Percy before Rohit and Kohli asked him to kiss Ajinkya Rahane. Percy duly obliged, leaving the Indian players in splits.
The white-ball specialists of India are set to tour Sri Lanka in July, while the Indian Test team will travel to the United Kingdom for the WTC New Zealand and a five-match Test series against England. India will play three ODIs and as many T20Is in Sri Lanka, with all of the matches taking place behind closed doors at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
