The most successful franchise in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Mumbai Indians (MI) is famous for maintaining consistency with their playing XI over the years. They have played with the same core team but this won’t be the case in the upcoming edition of the tournament.

The five-time champions have released the likes of Pandya brothers – Hardik and Krunal, Ishan Kishan, Quinton de Kock, and Trent Boult. Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya has indicated that he might not be seen playing again for Sharma and Co.

The 28-year-old shared an emotional video that summed up his career with MI Paltan since 2015. The heartfelt post also carried the popular Hindi song – ‘Pyaar Ke Pal’ by KK in the background.

Hardik Pandya’s poor form and recent injury concerns could be the top reason behind him being released by the Mumbai-based franchise ahead of IPL 2022. Moreover, he had a forgettable season for MI in 2020, where he batted at a strike rate of only 113.39, scoring 127 runs in 12 appearances.

“My journey with @mumbaiindians …

I’ll carry these memories with me for the rest of my life, I’ll carry these moments with me for the rest of my life. The friendships I’ve made, the bonds that have been formed, the people, the fans, I’ll always be grateful. I’ve grown not just as a player but as a person. I came here as a youngster with big dreams – we won together, we lost together, we fought together. Every moment with this team has a special place in my heart. They say all good things must end but @mumbaiindians will remain in my heart forever,” Hardik Pandya captioned his farewell post on Instagram.
