The defending champions West Indies have now made an exit from the race for the knockout round in the T20 World Cup. West Indies lost their third match of the World Cup as they were outclassed by 20 runs by Sri Lanka. Batting first, Lanka performed brilliantly as they posted 189 runs. Chasing the score, West Indies ended up with only 169 runs to lose the game by 20 runs.

Evin Lewis (2/10): The opening batter Evin Lewis failed to impress as he ended up with just eight runs in six balls.  

Rostan Chase (2/10): Bid things were expected from Roston Chase but he walked back after scoring just 9 runs off 8 balls.

Chris Gayle (1/10): Chris Gayle failed to perform once again with the willow. Gayle’s lean patch continues as he was dismissed after scoring just one run. 

Shimron Hetmyer (10/10): Shimron Hetmyer was the only player to show some intent with the willow. The power-hitter kept West Indies alive in the match till the very end by slamming 81 runs off just 54 deliveries.

Nicholas Pooran (9/10): The wicketkeeper Nicholas Pooran also made headlines with his impressive performance. The wicketkeeper smashed 46 runs in 34 balls he faced in the middle. 

Kieron Pollard(c) (0.5/10): West Indies skipper Kieron Pollard was dismissed on a golden duck by Wanindu Hasaranga.  

Andre Russell (1/10): Andre Russell failed to make an impact with the bat. Russell could manage only two runs with the willow. 

Dwayne Bravo (4/10): Dwayne Bravo proved to be expensive with the ball. The all-rounder picked one wicket in the form of Pathum Nissanka but ended up giving 42 runs in four overs.

Akeal Hosein (3/10): Akeal Hosein also had a forgettable outing. The spinner bowled two overs at an economy rate of 11.  

Ravi Rampaul (3/10): Ravi Rampaulwas another West Indies bowler who went wicketless in the game. Rampaul conceded 37 runs in his four overs at an economy rate of 9.2.

Kusal Perera (5/10): The opening batter Kusal Perera perished after a good start. His stay in the middle was cut short by Andre Russell when was playing at 29 runs off 21 deliveries. 

Pathum Nissanka (9/10): The other opening batter Pathum Nissanka had a fine outing. Nissanka scored 51 runs off 41 balls to give Sri Lanka a fine start. 

Charith Asalanka (9.5/10): Charith Asalanka was the Sri Lanka batter who impressed the most. Asalanka smashed 68 runs in just 41 balls including eight boundaries and one maximum.

Dasun Shanaka (c) (8/10): The skipper Dasun Shanaka applied finishing touches to Sri Lanka’s batting innings as he scored not out 25 runs in 14 balls.  

Wanindu Hasaranga (9/10): Wanindu Hasaranga delivered a good performance against West Indies. The spinner picked two crucial wickets while bowling at an impressive economy rate of 4.8.

Maheesh Theekshana (7.5/10): Maheesh Theekshana didn’t give many runs as he bowled at an economy rate of 5.2. However, the spinner failed to pick up a single wicket. 

Binura Fernando ( 7/10): Binura Fernando was expensive as he was hammered for 24 runs in just two overs. However, the seamer made redemption by picking two wickets of Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis.
