“What a hero!” Kevin Pietersen lauds PM Narendra Modi for India’s commendable efforts towards saving rhinos

Former England skipper Kevin Pietersen was all praises for India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Twitter. On the occasion of World Rhino Day on September 22, Wednesday, Assam took a massive step towards its campaign of saving rhinos. Assam scripted history as they destroyed the world’s largest stockpile of rhino horns at a public function.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma burnt approximately 2,479 rhino horns during a function held at Bokakhat stadium to make a global statement. CM also busted myths surrounding the medical benefits of rhino horns. Speaking on the public event, Himanta assured that Assam will never trade rhinos and will take all the adequate measures to protect the animal.
Assam CM had shared the details and pictures related to the mega event on his official Twitter handle. PM Narendra Modi seemed highly impressed by the efforts made by the Assam government as he took to his official Twitter handle to appreciate the authorities.
Kevin Pietersen pens a heartfelt note on Twitter

“Commendable effort by Team Assam. The One-Horned Rhino is India’s pride and all steps will be taken for its well-being,” Modi wrote on his Twitter handle.
The tweet caught the attention of many people on social media as they appreciated the Modi government for its efforts towards saving wildlife. Former England skipper Kevin Pietersen also retweeted the tweet by Modi and penned the heartfelt note for the PM.
The cricketer expressed his gratitude towards Indian PM for standing up for the animals and asked the other world leaders to take inspiration from India. “Thank you, @narendramodi! A global leader standing up for the planets rhino species! If only more leaders would do the same. And this is the reason why rhino numbers in India are rising exponentially! What a hero!” KP wrote on Twitter.
