“Who is blackmailing?” – Mohammad Amir hits back at Danish Kaneria for his statements on the pacer
Mohammad Amir
Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir has hit back at Danish Kaneria‘s statements that were made today about him ‘blackmailing’ the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Kaneria had stated that Amir was trying to blackmail others with his statements so as to try to return to the national side.
Kaneria spoke on his YouTube channel about Amir and had said, “I am taking nothing away from Mohammad Amir. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I feel he is trying to blackmail others with his statements so that he can make a return to the side. From his comments on moving to England and getting citizenship and playing the IPL, you can understand his headspace.”
It is noteworthy that Amir had shocked the cricket world in 2020 by announcing his retirement at the tender age of 28. He had stated that he wasn’t treated well by the Pakistan management and especially Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis, the head coach and bowling coach respectively. He had stated that his self-respect was affected and that he was not allowed to settle in well with the team at all.
Mohammad Amir slams Danish Kaneria
After Danish Kaneria made his statements, Mohammad Amir replied to the same by responding to an article written by Firstsportz saying, “Oh is he still here in Pakistan I thought. He understands we Pakistanis cannot do good to him, that is why this gentleman has given a similar statement one month ago. So I think we know who is blackmailing here.”
Further, to a fan who asked him as to why he is commenting a lot on social media about the issue, Amir said, “Yeah u are brother, but sometimes u need to yar (sic).“
