India’s decorated off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin came into reckoning after a scintillating performance in the Indian Premier League and hasn’t looked back since then. Ravi Ashwin is one of the rare breeds of players who proved themselves at the highest level also after a brilliant stint in the Indian league. 

However, Ashwin hasn’t had it easy as his cricket career has been marred with controversies and rumored disputes with the Indian team management. Despite all the off-field talks, Ashwin has successfully established himself as one of the greatest spinners in the history of the game especially in the longest format of the game. 

The 35-year-old has donned the white jersey for India on 79 occasions picking a whopping 413 wickets at an economy rate of 2.80 and an average of 24.6. He also has 2685 Test runs to his credit at an average of 27.7. Coming to the limited-overs career, Ashwin has played a total of 111 ODIs and 46 T20 Internationals scalping 150 and 52 wickets respectively.

Ravi Ashwin’s limited-overs career went for a toss after India’s loss in the 2017 Champions Trophy against Pakistan in the final. However, the spinner now has a chance to revive his white-ball career as he has been picked by the Indian selectors for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021.

The Chennai-born will have a point to prove in the T20 World Cup as he will have the responsibility of living up to the trust shown by the skipper and the management. Ashwin’s last white-ball outing for India came in 2017 and he will be thus eager to take the field again during the World Cup. 

Though Ashwin has experienced a roller-coaster ride in his professional career, his personal life has been pretty sorted with an extremely supporting wife Prithi Narayanan.

Prithi Narayanan is a housewife and is nothing less than a backbone for the Indian cricketer. There have been many times when Prithi has defended her husband on social media. Prithi and Ashwin attended the same school in Chennai but it was in the college that the duo started seeing each other.

They soon fell in love and decided to enter marital bliss in 2011. The couple became parents for the first time in 2015 as they welcomed a baby girl named Akhira. A year later, Ashwin become a father for the second time as Prithi gave birth to a beautiful baby girl Aadhya.
