Shreyas Iyer is undoubtedly slated to become the pillar of the middle order of the Indian team. Within a short span of time, Iyer has established himself as the next big thing in the Indian cricket team. The right-hander also finds himself in the race for becoming the captain of the Indian cricket team in the coming years.
Making his debut for Mumbai in the domestic circuit, Shreyas Iyer flaunted his class with the willow. The turning point in Iyer’s cricket career came in 2015 when Delhi paid a whopping INR 2.6 crore to acquire his services for the 2015 edition of the Indian Premier League. The Mumbai-born justified his paycheck as he ended up with 439 runs from 14 IPL games.
The 26-year-old was elevated to the post of captain after Gautam Gambhir stepped down mid-season in 2018. Iyer led the side admirably in his first full season as skipper guiding the Capitals to their first IPL final. Recently Shreyas made his debut in Test cricket and scripted history in Kanpur.
He scored a hundred in the first innings before scoring an impressive fifty in the second. Shreyas became the first Indian to achieve the feat. Over time, Shreyas has gone on to become a famous personality in the country and his sister Shresta Iyer seems to be following her brother’s footsteps but in a different field.

Shreyas Iyer’s sister Shresta Iyer is a professional dancer and choreographer with quite a big following on social media, namely Instagram. Shresta was born on 29 April in Mumbai and resides in the city with her family. She is an animal lover and could be seen posting videos and pictures spending time with them.
While not much is known about Shresta, her relationship with her brother is rather well documented. Shreyas Iyer has taken to Instagram to share videos of him pranking Shresta. The budding cricketer often shares throwback pictures of him with his sibling on social media.
The brother-sister duo shares a very dynamic and as some might put it, crazy relationship. During the pandemic, the fans got to see a glimpse of Iyer’s life off the field as the Mumbai batsman didn’t shy away from sharing the happy, little moments he spent with his family.
Shreyas is up for a huge task as India gears up for the South Africa tour. Iyer is expected to replace an out of form Ajinkya Rahane in the batting order. Moreover, all eyes will be on him as IPL mega auction inches closer. Iyer was released by the Delhi Capitals earlier this year.
