WTC Final: Twitter reacts as New Zealand are crowned as the first World Test Champions

New Zealand thumped India by eight wickets in the World Test Championship (WTC) final to be crowned as the best of the format. The rain hit WTC final saw India struggle with bat in both innings as the Kiwis rode home on an all round performance. With overhead conditions suiting their bowlers, the Blackcaps ransacked the Indian line up not once but twice.

India’s poor run in the knockout stages continue as they yet again failed to go the extra yard and lift the title. The Asian giants had a lot going against them, starting from their poor batting to blunders on the field. India were no where close to their usual best and hence finished second in the inaugural edition of the WTC.

Twitteratis have gone berserk following India’s yet another dismal show in the knockouts of an ICC event. Indian fans are devastated and they have reason to be. Virat Kohli and Co. are undoubtedly the best in the format but they faltered on the final step costing them the WTC final. Virender Sehwag led the meme fest following India’s loss in the WTC final.
