The former UFC champion and current Bellator women’s champion Cris Cyborg reacted to the heart-breaking video of Julija Stoliarenko collapsing at UFC Vegas 22 weigh-ins. She quoted, “This is a scary video to watch.”
On Friday afternoon UFC women’s bantamweight Julija Stoliarenko collapsed not once but twice on the scale, she fainted first time, then she took some time sat on a chair and then on the second attempt her weigh-in was successful but she fainted again and the second one was even scarier.
Another fighter Cris Cyborg had some history with such controversial weight cuts and she understand Julija’s situation very well. After dealing with such horrible weight cuts, she has become an advocate of safe weight cutting.
Ariel Helwani posted the video of this incident and she replied to his tweet and wrote, “Hopefully fans start to understand the importance of creating more weight classes and not less in women’s mixed martial arts. This is a scary video to watch.”
Cris Cyborg believes there needs to be more weight divisions for women
Cris Cyborg believes there is a need for more divisions for women in MMA, and she has been saying this for a long time. The rumour has it that UFC is looking to scrap the entire featherweight division.
Now we are about to receive a official decision for Julija and her team on her condition, and we can just hope that she’s well and fine, UFC is also yet to release an statement for this event.
