The final lap of this year’s men’s Royal Rumble match was something, to say the least. Three of the names who could’ve easily sealed their WrestleMania fate at the Rumble were Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and Seth Rollins. Regardless of what transpired, they’re penciled in for a triple threat match at WrestleMania 41, per PWInsider.
At the Rumble, The Second City Saint took advantage of the former Shield members’ animosity with each other and dumped them over the top rope simultaneously. That was a shocker. However, arguably a bigger one followed right after. As Punk was basking in the magnitude of the moment, Logan Paul turned the tide on the Chicagoan and scored an upset elimination.
Once Punk, Reigns, and Seth were out, tensions escalated at ringside. The OTC started yelling at Punk for throwing him out when back at Survivor Series last year, they were on the same page. As Roman was bickering with The Best in the World, an incensed Rollins measured The Tribal Chief and planted him with a vicious Curb Stomp.
The Visionary didn’t hold back at all on that one. And then, the brawl spilled over to Seth and Punk. The longtime rivals were swinging at each other as WWE officials scrambled to separate them. At one point, it seemed as if Rollins was finally exiting. However, he showed a middle finger to Paul Heyman before curb stomping his client into the steel steps.
The following night on Raw, Seth affirmed that he wouldn’t let Reigns headline another WrestleMania or get closer to a world title either. Later on, Punk made his way out to face Sami Zayn. But before that, The Straight Edge Superstar and The Visionary almost got into each other again.
What is the medical update on Roman Reigns post-Royal Rumble?
As mentioned above, Roman Reigns suffered the wrath of a couple of Curb Stomps at the Royal Rumble. Consequently, The Big Dog will unfortunately be out of action for the foreseeable future.
The revelation was made by Michael Cole during this week’s Raw on commentary. In the upcoming weeks, the fans will likely find out what favor Reigns’ Wiseman, Paul Heyman, owes to CM Punk.
Some are predicting that The Second City Saint will cash in his favor to acquiesce a WrestleMania main event out of The OTC. Seth Rollins is already in the fray and has been long overdue to get his hands on Roman. It’d be very interesting to see how this rumored all-star triple threat showdown will materialize.
